Tell me again how it's all about failed American diplomacy with the French Now they won't stand up against gencoide. I'm sure it has nothing whatsoever to do with Sudan's oil, either. Just like it had nothing to do with Saddam's. At least we learned something from Rwanda.
Update: Via USS Neverdock, it took the BBC three shots to get the story right (they tried to lay the oil interests on us) but, of course, you can't tell that since, as per their usual, all the editing is done on the sly.
Cori, your readers might be interested to know that the BBC article you reference originally said:
"France led opposition to US moves at the UN over Iraq, and as in Iraq the US also has significant oil interests in Sudan."
After some complaining the BBC stealth edited the article to say: "it also has significant oil interests in Sudan."
More complaining and, again with stealth editing, the BBC changed it to what is says now:
"France also has significant oil interests in Sudan"
Which significantly changes the story.
Sloppy reporting or anti-American policy at the BBC? We have proved conclusively, on this [my] blog and others, that the latter is the case.
